After my prototype of this game, I have identified the following aspects that I need to work on. A little bit of software engineering does help
- Game State Management
Code: Segregate Powerups & Weapons.Powerups: Pickup & StoreWeapons: Pickup & Use- Implement Ammo pickups
- Code: Clean Ammo for different weapons and different enemies.
Collision resolution for deflection (after shield)
- Sound
- Visuals for lives
- Checkpoint: After the player dies, he starts from there, rather than from the starting.
- Particle Effects
- Explosion effects: Custom with different bullet/enemy
- Health Bar for player/enemies
- Different type of power-ups
- Finishing sequence
- Refine Level
- More types of enemies
- Show the ammo available
- Timed spawning of powerups.
- Save/Load Game
- Load Level
- Option: Change Resolution
